Half Double Crochet Dish Cloth
Materials:
4-ply worsted weight
100% cotton yarn
H hook
Stitches needed:
ch – chain
hdc – half double
crochet
sl st – slip stitch
Ch 31
Row 1: hdc in the
third stitch from the hook, hdc in each ch across (29 stitches), ch 2, turn.
Row 2: hdc in first stitch,
hdc in each stitch across (29 stitches), ch 2, turn.
Rows 3 – 21 or until
desired length: rep row 2
Finish off
Optional edge:
Row 1: Join yarn in a corner of dishcloth
where you just fastened off, (ch 1, 3 sc) in corner. Work sc evenly down the side. 3 sc in corner.
Sc in each ch stitch. 3 sc
in corner. Work sc evenly down the
side. 3 sc in corner. Sc in each hdc stitch. Join to start of edge with sl st.
Row 2: ch 1, sc in back loop only of each
stitch around. 2 sc in the second
of the 3 corner sc. Join with sl
st, fasten off.
Weave in ends.
*Count frequently to
ensure you have the right amount stitches. If you have too many stitches, you may be stitching into the
turning chains. The turning chains
in hdc do not count as a stitch.
If you have too few stitches, you may not be stitching into the first
stitch on the row, or not stitching into the last stitch on the row.
