Double Crochet Dishcloth

Ch 31
Row 1: dc in fourth
ch from hk, dc in each ch (28 dc made)
Row 2 -16: ch 3,
turn. (ch 3 counts as first dc
here and throughout). Dc in second
stitch, in each dc across, and in the top of the turning chain (29 total
stitches – ch 3 (counts as first dc) and 28 dc).
End of row 16 –
fasten off if your edging is in a different color, and join new color with a
slip stitch in a corner, and continue.
OR
End of row 16 – don’t
fasten off if your edging is in the same color, and continue on to edging.
Edging
Row 1: ch 1, *3 sc in
same space for corners, evenly space sc stitches in side, rep from * around,
join to first sc with sl st
Row 2: ch 1, sc in
same stitch, *skip st, 5 dc in same st, skip st, sc in next st, rep from *
around, sc in first sc
Fasten off, weave in
ends.
** Make sure that you
crochet in the top of the ch 3 **

count the turning chains as an official stitch, some do – the pattern will tell
you.
